Safety InformationWhile Powder Catski Italy is dedicated to delivering an extreme sport experience, nothing is more important than your safety. We provide a high standard of professionalism and safety.
All of our guides are trained and certified by the U.I.A.G.M. We expect all of our guests to follow close attention to the safety briefing we offer twice a day, after all, no matter what the sport, you are doing it 'at your own risk.' |
Each group of 12 guests is led by two or three guides, each are trained and experienced in avalanche hazard forecasting, weather analysis, emergency mountain first aid, mountain rescue, and even ski/snowboard instruction techniques.
The guides carry all essential gear and equipment to handle emergencies in the field. There is on-going communication between guides and snowcat operators and in the event of an emergency, the snowcats are outfitted with additional rescue equipment, such as oxygen, a toboggan, spare skis and poles and extra probes. Snowcat operators are in radio communication with the base station at the lodge, with a second snowcat at the lodge on standby. Weather permitting, a helicopter can be available within 15 minutes to evacuate an injured skier/snowboarder. |
